Disneyland Tips & Ride Checklist

1. Download the Disneyland App (iOS & Google Play). This app is great for finding out wait times for the rides and attractions and has a map for finding your way around.

2. Get a Disneyland Map as you go in the main entrance. If you aren’t familiar with Disneyland, use it!

3. Keep your Disneyland Ticket with you at all times!

4. Consider Purchasing Disney Genie+ with your group ($25 per person). This allows Lightning Lane access to several attractions and includes these rides: Autopia, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, “it's a small world”, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, & Star Tours – The Adventures Continue.

   • You can purchase Genie+ through the Disneyland App once you enter Disneyland.

   • You’ll be able to select the next available arrival windows to enjoy a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction via the Disneyland app upon entering a theme park.

   • Once you’ve redeemed your initial selection (or the arrival window has passed), you can use the Disney Genie service Tip Board or My Day itinerary to see when you’re eligible to make another selection. You can make selections, one at a time, all day up to regular park closing, subject to availability and limited to one Lightning Lane selection per attraction per day.

5. Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance is not part of the Genie+ service and may be purchased individually. Cost varies from $7 to $20 (but will likely be closer to $20, if not $20). This can be purchased when you enter the park. You can also wait in line for this attraction, but wait times will be quite long.

6. Use the Disneyland App to find attractions with shorter wait times. Don’t spend too much time in any one area of the park. Keep an eye on wait times and always be moving towards the attractions with shorter lines. You should cross the park MANY times today.

7. Phone Charging - There are limited options for charging your phone. Consider buying/bringing a portable charger. They are also available for purchase in the park for $30. An even better idea is to save your money and stay off your phone unless looking for Disneyland attraction times. Unplug and enjoy your day in Disneyland! Other tips:

   • Turn down the screen brightness

   • Reduce the screen timeout setting

   • Turn off automatic cloud uploads for photos and videos

   • Disable your personal hotspot

   • Plug into a portable battery

8. Mr. Lack’s Food Favorites - Gibson Girl Ice Cream, Pizza Planet, and a treat for the bus ride home from the candy shops near the Splash Mountain Exit or on Main Street! Yum!
