Buchanan Marching band
The Buchanan Marching Band program serves over 130 woodwind, brass, colorguard and percussion students in grades 9-12. This ensemble is the largest performing group at BHS. All students enrolled in either concert band, percussion, or colorguard are required to be in marching band.

Spring Workshops
Summer Schedule
Summer rehearsals are essential to the growth and development of the band as we prepare for the season. Summer rehearsals are mandatory unless you have a family vacation. Schedule summer school appointments for days/times when we don’t have rehearsal.
Please make sure all absences are communicated to your director and an Excused Absence Request has been submitted at least one week prior to your absence.
Colorguard
Thursdays from 9am-5pm with a one-hour lunch break @ 12pm starting Thursday, June 15th.
Hornline (Brass & Woodwinds)

Percussion
Tuesdays beginning the week of June 12th from 9am-4pm with one-hour lunch break @ 12pm. (*First Rehearsal is on Wednesday, June 14th due to the Disneyland Trip.)
Weekly Fall Rehearsal Schedule
Once school starts, we rehearse at the same times each week. These rehearsals are considered an “8th Period” class for which attendance is taken and a grade is given. Attendance is mandatory. Always refer to the BHS Band Calendar in case

WEB-BASED PROGRAMS ALL BAND MEMBERS WILL USE:
BAND App:
We use this app as a means of communicating with the high school parents and students, in place of ‘Remind’. Remind has limitations due to the face that we have classes and programs of over 150 students. BAND is our alternative, and is particularly useful when we start going on trips and competitions. This can be accessed via the web or the free app. We have set up a separate one for parents and students.
