WBA Championships Update

After assessing the current air quality and the air quality forecast for today in the Bakersfield area, WBA has decided to cancel this weekend’s championships events.

While this is a disappointing way to end the competitive season, we had two great performances this week and Thursday night’s rehearsal was very special for our marching band. We are thankful to WBA for making the students’ health and safety the top priority.

We invite any and all BHS Marching Band students to join us in the Bandroom for a pulled pork lunch today at 12:00pm. We need to unload the equipment truck and clean up the bandroom, and sharing a good meal together with our band family is always a plus! This is voluntary, but we hope you can join us.

For those of you who pre-purchased tickets for this weekend, we will let you know when we hear from WBA. They are currently in the process of notifying all the participating bands, judges, and everyone else directly involved with running the shows this weekend regarding the cancelation.

Thank you for your incredible efforts this year. This season has been one of tremendous growth for our program and we continue to be very excited about the future of the Buchanan Instrumental Music Program.

If we don’t see you today for lunch, have a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Be sure to get your tickets for our end of the season banquet on Tuesday, November 27th on the Charms Store!

With much gratitude and appreciation,

John Lack
